Activated sludge systems are one of the most widely used and effective biological wastewater treatment methods, utilizing microorganisms to remove organic pollutants from wastewater. BSA Water Technologies provides engineering solutions for the design, development, and installation of high-efficiency activated sludge systems for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment.
In the activated sludge process, organic contaminants present in wastewater are biologically degraded by microorganisms. This process typically occurs in aeration tanks, where oxygen is supplied to support microbial activity and accelerate the biological treatment process.
After biological treatment, the mixture of treated water and biological sludge is directed to secondary clarifiers, where the sludge settles and separates from the purified water. A portion of the settled sludge is returned to the aeration tank to maintain the biological process, while excess sludge is removed from the system.
BSA Water Technologies designs integrated activated sludge systems including aeration equipment, biological reactor tanks, and sludge recirculation systems. These systems are optimized according to project requirements and treatment capacity, ensuring reliable and sustainable wastewater treatment performance.
